My insouciant* attitude is showing

Each week word(s) beginning with the designated letter are selected and illustrate through a photo, poem or prose. My twist on the meme is selecting unusual words and pairing them with photos of familiar things in my world. I’ll be pulling words from sources here, here and, of course, here.
Last week someone was inspired enough to nominate my H-day entry for ABC recognition. I’m honored and thank whomever it was. How fitting that the design pictures one of my favorite places for inspiration…the BEACH and OCEAN!
Now, let’s get unusual…
islomania: craze or obsession for islands.
islandic: of or pertaining to an island.
Or just give me any Caribbean beach, the ocean and a tropical drink and I’m a happy girl. Life’s a Beach when your vegetating on one.
iridal: of or pertaining to the rainbow.
iridian: having or suggestive of the colors of a rainbow.
Caught this outside our house last year and blogged about it HERE. Rainbows always make me smile.
iguana: large tropical lizard.
While vacationing down the Mayan Riviera, we visited the ruins of Tulum. Tulum was a major Mayan sea port protected on the land side by a 16 foot wall and on the ocean side by 40 foot cliffs. The cliffs were particularly attractive to the local iguanas. There were probably 15 of them on the cliffs when we were there, blending perfectly into the rocks.
