ABC Wednesday is a blogging meme started by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt. Each week, those of us with extra time on our hands select a word(s) beginning with the designated letter for that week and illustrate it through a photo, poem or prose. We in the states post Tuesday afternoon (Wed for our friends across the pond) or Wednesday morning. This is Round 6 of ABC Wednesday. It’s great fun and anyone can join in at anytime. To peek at previous weeks or check out this week’s entries, click on the ABC Wednesday logo in my sidebar.
I’ve chosen to feature unusual words from The Phrontistery each week and pair them with photos of familiar things. Here’s what I came up with for this week.
jasperated mottled or streaked with various colors
I got this fantastic bowl for my birthday. It sits up very, very high, out of reach from 18-month-old fingers.
jessamy yellow like a jasmine
Not exactly jasmine, but Jonquils are also yellow.
juvenescent becoming youthful
Hmmmm…I think Roger stole my word for the home page of Round 6. The word was already in the entry in my drafts. Really, it was!
Out of babyhood and into toddlerhood. Peanut is 18-month young.
Army Wife snapped this shot of her yesterday.
Jazzman: one who sings, plays or composes jazz music
Not an overly unusual word, but I wanted to include this photo of our favorite rhythm and blues-jazz group, the Bel Airs.
